Stumps
Stumps Will Cause an Array of Problems:
- Lawn mower damage
- Unusable area of ground or garden
- Ideal food source to harbor fungi and is a serious threat to the immediate proximity of the stump.
We highly recommend having the stump removed and there are several ways this can be done. Stump grinding is the process of reducing a stump that is currently lodged in the ground through the use of a machine called a “stump grinder” to mulch. This is the most efficient way of reducing yard stumps with little to no impact.
The Stump Grinder is a hydraulically driven machine that requires a minimum of three feet access. This machine has a large wheel that in turn has teeth on it. The teeth spin around rapidly until the stump is “ground” out. Stump grinding provides a straightforward and less disruptive stump removal process than traditional stump removal, resulting in great cost savings and eliminating damage to your lawn.
Stump Removing is a method that would be used when grade changes and/or foundation footings, or other types of structures would be established. The process of removing a stump is done by excavating the area around the existing stump either by a backhoe or excavator so it can be broken free from the earth surrounding it, lifted and loaded into a dump truck and carted away off site to a local refuge recycler. This method is much more involved, hence it is much more costly.
After grinding or removing stumps, we can enhance the area by simply adding topsoil and planting grass. If you’re replanting a tree, we suggest moving a good distance away from the former stump area to ensure proper root growth. And as an added bonus, stump grinding creates mulch, which you can then use around your yard in flowerbeds, gardens and around trees.
